Dear sweet apple pie rug mirror basket kitchen sofa television dog bleach towel I hate these things!
I can understand having school blockers for little kids who don't know how to use the internet, or might stumble upon inappropriate content, but COME ON! We're middle schoolers/high schoolers/people in college! We know how to do stuff on our own!
Does your school have an internet filter or blocker? Come rant about it here!

My school blocker is so fa-reaking terrible! So, imagine me, an innocent little child (no.) going to play Minecraft because he's all done with work.
NOPE SON SORRY THE INTERNET IS SERIOUS BUSINESS YOU CAN'T PLAY THIS GAME!
The thing is, unlike most blockers, our school's is actually smart. You can't use proxies, can't turn it off, can't use the task manager to turn it off, can't use cmd to turn it off, can't even change settings!

I'm in High School and quite honestly I don't find it that bad. It keeps me on task and studying which is what one is supposed to be doing in school anyways. 'Play time' comes after school, right? Unless one plays games constantly, even during school. Which would be a pretty bad thing.

One thing I do find annoying is that my school has blocked the Sparknotes website which many students in my school use for book reviews and such. I guess there are advantages and disadvantages to going to a Private School. Oh well.

Well I'm in college so... I have access to almost anything (I don't know if I have access to p**n but I'm not willing to find out.)

I can bypass my school's blocker with a proxy. But I don't do it anymore because of the teacher constantly watching me because I shut down his computer using cmd once...

Oho is that so? *says with a smug look on his face*
College allows me to search anywhere online because I'm a badass!

I guess they're afraid of us middle school students trying to look up pornography or something because we have 'hormones'.
But nobody tries to do that anyway, most of the students in my class are too dimwitted to do anything other than what the teacher tells them.
I got Minecraft to work though. HEHEHEHEHE.

Ever since they updated the secuity, my proxy has been blocked, but they can't defeat me and my flashdrive. also rex, what I see people do is put the launcher on a Flash Drive, then play it by logging in or something. At least I think that's how it works, I mostly play HL2DM and L4D2 anyway.

Well, I'm guessing they block games because school computers are for school.

As for my school's blocker; it seems to be very... questionable. It never blocks things like YouTube or most flash game sites, but when I'm trying to do work and research? It ends up blocking most of the sites I try to get info from. Websites, I remind you, that are PURELY for research. It can be quite maddening.

Of course, you can be too cool for school and get a flash drive with a bunch of emulators and your minecrafts. I remember spending a whole morning in middle school playing Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time and Mortal Kombat 2 when we had a free day. Good times. I also remember countless students using UltraProxy, which they "wisely" put on the school shared files. Though, I think most school blocks can disable it now. Just like all the other proxies.

I'm in college now, so I don't have to worry about any blockers ruining my day.

However, I remember my high school's blocker being somewhat tame. It blocked YouTube but you could get onto most game sites okay. And I remember that you could get around the block by using a proxy. Dunno if it's still like that today. (probably not)

We always find another site to access what we want that's not blocked. We kept finding happy wheels unblocked all the time and various others lol.

School's love to try to make it so you can't get to them, That's why I normally carry my flash drive with me since I used to play Slender and stuff on the computers lol.

XD I have a friend that would do the same thing except he would bring other games to the school computers through his flash drive: N64 emulator with games, Doom2, Slender and other games that were made with the Slender graphics.

I wouldn't know about that becuase I never try to play games at school because it's where you LEARN not play (well unless it's lunch time which is social time) But even then I will use MY laptop not school owned property and I usually play SRB2 or Portal 2 on my laptop so unless I wanna do co-op it doesn't use internet and the teachers don't give a fuq if you bring a laptop as long as you don't pull it out in the middle of class

You can do anything you want if you hack admin rights by booting Linux!

I figured out a way to totally punk the school blocker.
There's a program called 'CH3DDARS Minecraft FlashDrive Edition' it's just like the PC version, same content and everything, it just reads files off of a flashdrive. So you can move all of your worlds and saves onto the flash drive and play at school without leaving a trace! :D
