TASing is the method of using various tools (excluding cheating devices like game genies) and glitches to beat a game in the fastest time possible. Some TAS videos are simple, others are outrageous.

I love these kinds of videos, because it's kind of like how a superhero would play video games.

And here's a site specifically for TAS runs and videos: tasvideos.org

Here's a really crazy run of Tails in Sonic 1: http://tasvideos.org/2514M.html

These speedruns I think I've seen things like this before.

I just love TAS speedruns! And have tried to TAS SRB2 numerous times without succeeding.

SRB2 is pretty hard to TAS, but I'm sure people on the site have TASed it already if you look it up.
The guys who record these videos are usually professional, you gotta know the tricks to the game, the glitches, when to use your tools, when to slow down, jump, or use shortcuts, they all have a timed pattern they follow.
Some TASers even slow down the game so that they can react faster.

I love doing a TAS speedrun on Jet Set Radio from time to time. Pretty fun.

I should probably upload one to Youtube, would anyone watch it tho...?

Doing a TAS of JSR must take a while, though. There any frame-perfect things in that game?

Don't think so, no. The last one I did 2-3 months ago.
Now when I speedrun (non-TA and any%) JSR I play the HD version because of the camera controls being so much easier, also, you're able to skip cutscenes.
My average time is 50-60mins now.

Can you even TAS console games without an emulator?

You have to use TAS emulator. I mean: You can do TAS to NES games with emulator called fceux. It´s a NES amulator that runs games frame by frame if you want and you can go back in the time to change your missstakes and even press all the keys at the same time if you want. I have multiple times tried to get SRB2 working with Dolpih emulator.

I don't think it's even possible to get SRB2 to run on an emulator.
