Hello everyone! So, as I said this would be updated after the OLDC (In the skybase at least), I did it, I mean we did it.




Without any waiting, the credits! They're basically the same.

What are the changes since the last version you may ask, so here are some...


Floral Road Zone remade from scratch, everything here is new!
Emblems, like the vanilla SRB2 instead of a shitty system
NewHorizons archives, tough, the levels in there weren't changed, so don't judge them
A multiplayer match map made by Sonic100000!


Can I say more about that? Oh yes, feedback will be much appreciated!

So due to some critizes about our -- Let's face it -- bad level design for this level pack tough, I decided to entierely restart FRZ1...
Then it'll be the end of super linear compressed platforming:

I didn't setup the skybox for the moment but it will be do.
Also, due to the time that it'll take to remake every level in the pack (2 in fact X) ) and buff a bit the third I took the decision to sent FRZ1 (This level) instread of SSZ1 in the OLDC because I used the same crappy compressed level design in SSZ1, tough I will include it in the pack.

I just started the map yesterday and I think I could eventually complete it toay if I do not attemp to eat cakes today :3

Well I have two good news:
The first one is that FRZ1 is entierely finished, here is a GIF to show you the start of the level, the rest will be shown in the OLDC tough.

The second one is that we launch a Red Crawla in the sky today, yes in the sky because Sonic's foot isn't big enough to kick him in the space :|
(Also we kicked another one but we didn't retrieve it since it landeds in the lake.)

Actually all will be coming for the OLDC, for the map pack download, it will be downloadable once Green Hill will be finished, Floral Road 2 will maybe not be avaiable, ----for its complete version tough-- also FRZ1 is now 100% finished and uses a custom texture, it's a 1.5x bigger GFZROCK that were a bit modified.

Also, Red Crawla now has 2 HP (But they don't fly as shown in a previous post)
Concerning Green Hill, Sonic100000 is carrying of that, he's done me prouds with the screenshot he provided in a PM. I won't post them here since it will be a surprise.

Yeah, your progress looks nice. I think it would look better if the skybox mountains were green instead of blue. They look weird near the green islands back there.

I think it'd look even cooler if the mountains were layered; as in putting mountains behind the ones you got there, but it looks fine as is.

So, as it was said at the MB, I updated the boss, it is now the good old Egg Fat-ass Mobile, I tough you were expecting me to do it, I changed some states :P

Instead of raping the player with MT_ROCKET, Eggman choosen a less speed projectile, MT_TORPEDO.

In the pinch mode, The wild Egg Fat-ass throws you a wild Red Crawla which has 2 HP in New Horizons because his maching is too damaged to fire (or because he is too fat and can't reach the fire button) And after, he flees left or right to avoid being stuck in a beautiful wall.

EDIT: Concerning the mountains in the skybox, I will let them as they are.

As the first act is now finished, I can now concentrate on doing the second act.
The second act is based of exploration, the player is in a dark cave. Even if the screenshots LOOKS dark, you can still see the ennemies and other things from far away. (even with the minimal brightness)

So, I just took some time for doing this, HappyFox does the section shown in the second screenshot tough. Also Knuckles has his own path in this level but it is too incomplete for the moment.

Might I suggest you make the rooms a bit brighter? It seems very hard to see the pictures honestly, unless you were aiming for the dark/hard to see gimmick.

Actually, the goal of this level is that it has to be "mysterious" and based on exploration that's why it is dark, but thrust me, I can see what's heading for me easyly, even in minimal brightness.
In the last section that I will make today, the water will raise (like in DSZ1). This room will have a big hole in the ceilling for light, to be sure that the player isn't going to panic because of the darkness in the water.

Actually, there are some used in FRZ1, but since FRZ2 is totally inside a cave, there isn't any outside area.

But don't except for a release before the OLDC, since FRZ1 is going to be inside and that we can't submit a content that was already released.

So, I have fixed some issues I had with OGL (Most of them, currently) and removed the ugly slime trail in FRZ1.

The boss will be an edit of the Devil Sonic (I'm working on the SOC) using Metal's sprites.

But, guys, what would you like to see as a second zone?
Also, the OLDC is approaching, with FRZ1, and NH's 1.0 release not so long after :P

Well sorry for that ugly and long inactivity because erm, I just polyshed and revised a bit the levels, adding finitions etc.
There's still no good layout planned for a second zone, it will be a bit hard to start it until I find a good layout for it.
More informations soon.

Also, if you are interrested to help us and you are a confirmed mapper, please send a PM here, or at the MB if you are too lazy to create an account here (Which is sad because the Skybase is pretty cool!)

Actually, I am trying to find an original zone idea (aside for the boss of Icefield Volcano being ported)
Maybe a kind of old castle (Not CEZ-ish) but I'm not really sure....

So, after 1 month of inactivity, I finally decided to get back working on the project. As I had no news about HappyFox... Tough, Ors is still working on HAZ and it's almost done by what he told me. By my side, I will remake Icefield Volcano. Also, there will maybe be a release, m-maybe even this week of the current package containing the full Floral Road and archives unlockables.

It will head to Eggman's super secret underwater base, IN SPACE! Tough that will be an interresting concept if HAZ is one of the last zones.

SSZ? OH you probably mean Sunset Skirmish (or something like that) This is actually the match map based on Floral Road that TheRealSalt did.
It's already in the package, ready to be used.

The release is coming soon, stay tunned!
The ring-meter is being improved and now shows the amount of ring needed. Also, this mod is supposed to be played in openGL or in windowed, or the HUD position will be messed up :|

The number wrote next to ring is currently a placeholder skin, but as long as it show the amount of ring, everything is correct.
It also requires 15 rings for level 1, 30 for level 2, and 45 for the bonus instead of 10, 20 and 30 rings.

Stormy Shelter? Oh yes now I remember, this will be an unlockable, but not in this version since it requires a lot of improvements ><
Also, the incoming release is imminent, planned for this week-end, with or without all the beta testers's reviews (Yes the beta is coming to you soon, tomorrow to be exact)
It will include:

-The entire Floral Road Zone
-New Horizons archives (Ye olde version :O)
-A multiplayer map made by TheRealSalt (Sunset Skirmish is its name)
-Emblems!

Feedback about decorations that could be put here will be APPRECIATED, such as Ice Flowers and the forms they could have, because the only decoration avaiable here is the blue crystal for the moment...

I think yes, so here's the progress of IVZ1, as I decided to extend it for at least 30 more seconds of gameplay,

Here's a screenshot of the Crawla boss that is the guardian of the Volcano (amazing backstory) Once beaten, you can acces to the last part of the level which is being make.

Here's a small coridor with a lava river that pushes big Ice Blocks, not a good idea to go with them, unless ya want to die.

And here's an enormous outdoor area that will probably help you for the score emblem, unless the biggest amount of points is somewhere else?


And aside of that?
Some other minor things were done, such as the Bronze and Silver rings monitor pannels that now flip and have a yellow border. I also swapped Gold and Silver Rings monitor as a reference to 1.09.x.


Any new level in work?
Yup, the 1st special stage is coming up, and they will be races with Metal Sonic, there are no screenshots for the moment because of the level being way too incomplete (No things at all, just the level design itself and poor decorations so meh)

31/5/15, UPDATE! OLD HORIZONS IS OUT!
Have you ever wondered how bad was New Horizons supposed to be?
Play through the early betas of the levels that were planned for the mod, but removed, such as Floral Cove's first version of its 2nd act that had to be restarted 3 times! Get it here: http://mb.srb2.org/attachment.php?attachmentid=6468&d=1433067522


The download is a separate file because of the HUD changes, and the fact that it would make the file way bigger.

As a separate note, I can announce the removal of the Buff Gauge for the upcoming versions of the main New Horizons files.
I was planning something, tough I don't know if you would be interrested firstly:


-Firstly, I would just entierely get rid of Tails of Knuckles' playability for the level pack. Don't get mad at me, the interresting part is coming.


-I would -shamelessly- add Sylveon.


-Levels would be rebuilt in a way that Sonic and Sylveon have their OWN paths, using their abilities. Like Knux specific paths do, but for almost every level, if not just every.


-I also plan minibosses for each level, those being stronger versions of an in-level enemy.


I know adding Sylveon seems -from me- like I just want it there because I like it (Which is true, of course, I won't lie), but I think this would add some more diversity to the gameplay, having a really fast one and a slower one, both using the character's abiltiies (Sonic will probably have the Homing Attack.)


Suggestions? Or insta-scrap?
