This little idea came from Skybase's Chatbox when Ors typed
I think SkyBase would need some kind of SRB2 contest: Level design, Record attack, tricking, "movie" or something else
Then i got idea of starting a Level Desing thingy from MB.
So why not? It will make some interesting maps here.
Did you agreed me?

Yes! But if this contest gets started, we would have to make this different than the one on MB, this would need some kind theme like Winter maps, beach maps, mario maps, etc.

Why do you make it sound like it was your idea from the start?

That doesn't really sound different but it's on the right track.
Also doing a contest here doesn't necessarily mean that you're going to end up ripping off the contest on the SRB2MB. Most online games are bound to have forums with level designing contests, the only difference is that the contest on this site probably won't be official like the SRB2MB one.

You guys could just make up different types of contests with different rules applying to each contest to make it more fun, some examples:
- Make a deathmatch map with a season theme.
- Make any type of map (pretty much a classic)
- Make a race map with good multiple paths for each character type (speed, flight, glide, etc.)
- etc.

Furthermore if the idea of having a level contest on this site does go through just pray that people will spend time playing and judging the maps. I say this because this site is pretty inactive at the moment (lurky, lurking, lurkers here and there).

In my opinion it would be best to start with at least 5 competitors in a level design contest to make it more interesting.
And when I say "at least 5 competitors" don't just restrict it to 5 only.

With the many interesting points on this thread, holding a contest does seem like a grand idea, under the circumstances that we can get 5 at the least, (preferably more), to join in. PM or VM me if you would potentially join in on this, based off that this could or could not become a thing.

I am bumping this in hopes that it will encourage more people, but as of now we do not have enough people willing to participate to start a contest.

quick question-because this thread was released so long ago I have to ask, what version of SRB2 will this contest take place in?

Haha I just got a notification in email and logged in for the first time in 5 years. Looking at the date it was probably early 2.1 era when this thread was made. Quite nostalgic feeling now. Would be kinda surprising to have a competition now. :P
