Skybase Archivation

Hello everyone, i don't sure where to post it so i posting this in chaos. The thing i am talking about is archivation of the Skybase, i.e the unability to make accounts and post, so the only thing you can do is view posts and comments. So why i bringed this up? Because of VERY low activity, so it makes sense to archive this forum.

Is there really a reason to purposefully archive the forums? Like: is there a benefit to not letting people post or make accounts? I'm not really sure why I'd do that. It wouldn't make it less costly or anything like that to run - we're on a fixed-rate unlimited hosting plan that is pretty reasonable for me to continue paying for.

And I also don't intend on drawing down the website either. Again, not costly to run.
