What I wanna see is actual cutscenes with people literally talking instead of still having words on the screen like the video sky just posted, and when you think of it sega has been doing cutscenes since sonic 3 if I remember.

We don't know what their budget is, and they're not lazy in my opinion if they're starting to have 3D stages with full exploration, but I can understand what you're talking about.
Technically, Sonic 1 would be the first because of the Scrap Brain Zone (Eggman traps Sonic and makes him fall, like Sonic 3's transition from Angel Island to Hydrocity, except with a tad bit more control), but Sonic CD would be the first with a real full blown cutscene (opening and ending).
Thanks for the correction, I wasn't so sure on this because I played sonic 3 more than any other classic game, but like TSDude said its too early to make assumptions to how dimps will make the cutscenes good or bad, but its still good to discuss about it though.
Here's a new screenshot of Silent Forest Zone:

Hang tight in there, Sonic!
It looks like one of the sections of the trailer where Sonic uses the Rhythm Wisp. It looks like Wisps are going to be a lot more optional than Colors.
Nice screenshot I like how some stages are at night.

Heres the cutscene with english subtitles.
(NOTE: Due to slow internet lately, I have not seen any of these videos)
So has it been explained how Eggman escaped limbo, or what happened to robotnik?
