On a separate, follow up post, I'll put my thoughts on the game.

    • The game is split into two exes, one for remastered Sonic Generations, and the main exe on launch for Shadow Generations

Sonic Generations: (Played until second major boss "Perfect Chaos") [No spoiler block because 13 year old game lol]
    • Modern Sonic feels okay, tbh I do struggle to find much difference in gameplay between the original and the remaster (I may go back and install the OG to do some side by side on physics and such)
    • Classic Sonic is wonky, but I think he was just as awkward in the OG as well.
    • Sonic Generations lines were redubbed/rewritten, it is nice actually, especially since all the cast have improved their performances over the last 13 years, and having the quality of that acting be consistent with other current Sonic media is a good thing. Not a drastic change, it is still the same story, but with notably better delivery and letting their personalities shine through.
    • Game looks decent, although there are parts I can clearly notice low res textures and assets that have probably not been edited at all from the OG version (Looking at you, boss gates during cutscenes)
    • Shaders debatably nicer? Again hard to tell without going side by side with the OG, I simply cannot tell them apart, which isn't exactly in favor of the remaster, thankfully Shadow's half more than makes up for it.

Shadow Generations: (Completed the Story Mode, did not 100% S ranks or other secondary tasks)
SPOILER ALERT, albeit nothing story specific
    • Great cinematics, incredible mix of story and gameplay seamlessly
    • Shadow's current VA (Kirk Thornton) has really gone the extra mile on this one, I typically dislike his performances as Shadow, but here I actually really enjoy him.
    • Story is very interesting and engaging, taking old concepts and bringing them forward into new ideas, the first act is picking up pace nicely
    • Gameplay and powers are fun an interesting, aside from the usual Sonic fair of platforming, Shadow makes use of several powers both old and new as shown in the game's marketing, they feel and flow pretty naturally, although the controls take a little getting used to.
    • Surprisingly no bugs, glitches, or other wonkiness I've come to expect of games on launch/pre-launch, things are working as intended thus far.
    • Healthy challenge, I often get A ranks on most missions first try, prompting me to still find room for improvement and replay value.
    • Lots of lore, music, and concept art to unlock, plus other goodies.
    • 3D hub world, good and fun.
    • Stages and boss battles are very well picked, everything feels very well put together for an amazing experience.
    • My gameplay time was about 4.5 hours for the Shadow Generations story. Little to no redos on stages/bosses, and only minimal side content to continue the story along. Still lots of exploration, improvements, and other replay value to be had.
